Contacts report that with current pricing much of the domestic demand has dried up. Demand for dry whey to export is steady, with available inventories primarily being sold to international markets. Port congestion is continuing to delay exports from the region. Dry whey market prices are showing some sign of weakness on the CME, as they have fallen by $0.05 in the last week. Production of dry whey in the region is mixed. While cheese producers are running full schedules, manufacturers are focusing production on higher whey protein concentrates and permeate.
