MD_DA540 Dry Whey - Western U.S. Report 50 - Released on December 13, 2018 Western dry whey prices decreased at the top of range, but stand still anywhere else. This week no special brand sales were reported. As the result, the overall price range contracted. Most sales are taking place in the low to mid $.40s. However, some contacts report push backs from customers at those price levels and state that they are seeing many offers in the high $.30s. Whey inventories continue to be more prevalent in the West compared to other regions. Sales are stable domestically, but decreasing in the international market. Dry whey buyers are cautious when making purchase decisions as they try to gauge the direction of the market. Industry players are in the process of finalizing contracting agreements for 2019. Output levels are unchanged from a week ago.
