SJ_GR851 St. Joseph, MO Fri Jun 28, 2019 USDA-MO Dept of Ag Market News WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, cash bids for wheat was mostly higher; corn was mixed; and sorghum and soybeans were lower. Ethanol production for week ending June 21st totaled 1.07 million barrels per day, a 11,000 barrel decrease when compared to the week prior. Ethanol stocks were at 21.5 mb this week, a decrease of 0.046 mb. Monday's planting progress report for w/e 6/23/2019 revealed that planting pace for corn is now 96 percent planted and should be virtually done for the year as the calendar is not conducive to a full growing season. Soybean acres planted are now at 85 percent complete; an 8 percent increase from the previous week. Grain markets have been a roller coaster this week with some ups and downs as thte market prepares for the Acreage and Grain Stocks reports that will be released later this morning. Warm and dry weather in the forecast will help with increasing the crop condition as corn is ready for the growing degree days of a typical Late June/early July time period. Wheat was unchanged to 14 cents higher. Corn was 10 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Sorghum was 18 cents to 26 cents lower. Soybeans were 20 3/4 cents to 27 3/4 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 8 cents higher from 5.73 1/2-5.83 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 11 to 14 cents higher from 5.72-5.73 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was not quoted. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was steady from 5.75-6.30 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 5 1/4 cents lower to 2 cents higher from 4.49 1/2-4.56 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 10 cents lower to 2 cents higher from 4.35-4.55 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 to 4 cents lower from 4.38-4.40 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 to 10 cents lower from 4.50-4.60 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 1/4 to 3 1/4 cents lower from 4.70 3/4-4.71 3/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was not quoted. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 5 3/4 cents lower to 5 1/4 cents higher from 2.82-3.28 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not quoted. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not quoted. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 18 cents lower from 7.32-7.41 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 18 to 26 cents lower from 7.14-7.69 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 22 3/4 cents lower at 8.33 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 20 3/4 to 23 3/4 cents lower from 8.70 3/4-9.02 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 27 3/4 cents lower from 8.24 3/4-8.47 3/4 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent soybean meal, processor rail bid was 10.80 lower from 310.20-332.20 per bushel. Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 0.78 points lower from 28.11-28.31 per cwt.
