SJ_GR851 St. Joseph, MO Fri Aug 30, 2019 USDA-MO Dept of Ag Market News WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, cash bids for wheat, corn, and soybeans were mixed while sorghum was lower. Ethanol production for week ending August 23rd totaled 1.038 million barrels per day, a 15,000-barrel decrease when compared to the week prior. Ethanol stocks were at 22.982 mb this week, a decrease of .385 mb. Monday's crop condition report showed corn at 57 percent good to excellent which would be 11 percent less than a year ago this time. Corn dented is reported at 27 percent this week, 32 percent below a year ago. Soybean condition was reported at 55 percent good to excellent which is 11 percent less than the same time a year ago. Soybeans setting pods reported at 79 percent, which is 15 percent behind last year. For the week ending August 22, 2019, an increase of 0.1 million bushels of corn export sales for 2018-19 and an increase of 33.8 mb for 2019-20 were reported, while a increase of 3.5 million bushels of soybean exports sales for 2018-19 and an increase of 13.0 million bushels for 2019-20 were tabulated. Wheat export sales showed an increase of 24.3 million bushels for 2019-20 were included in the latest report. Wheat was 12 cents lower to 3 cents higher. Corn was 8 1/2 cents lower to 11 cents higher. Sorghum was 6 cents lower. Soybeans were 2 1/4 cents lower to 2 3/4 cents higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 3 3/4 cents lower from 4.74 1/2-4.84 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 2 to 3 cents higher from 4.71-4.72 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 12 cents lower at 5.86 1/2 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was steady from 5.55-5.75 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 1 1/2 cents lower to 2 1/2 cents higher from 3.77 1/2-3.89 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 1/2 cents lower to 1 1/2 cents higher from 3.69 3/4-3.79 3/4 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 to 11 cents higher from 3.64-3.75 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 1/2 cents lower to 1 1/2 cents higher from 3.82 3/4-3.84 3/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 cents lower from 3.89 3/4-3.94 3/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 1/2 cent higher at 3.24 3/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 5 to 9 cents higher from 2.85 1/4-3.20 1/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not quoted. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not quoted. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 6 cents lower from 5.78-5.98 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 6 cents lower from 5.71-6.24 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 1 1/4 cent lower at 8.09 1/2 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1/4 to 2 1/4 cent lower from 8.33 1/2-8.73 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 1/4 cent lower to 2 3/4 cents higher from 8.01 1/2-8.28 1/2 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent soybean meal, processor rail bid was 1.70 lower to 0.30 points higher from 288.00-302.00 per bushel. Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 0.42 to 0.67 points lower from 27.87-28.37 per cwt.
