Ethanol production for week ending May 3rd totaled 1.036 million barrels per day, a 12,000 barrel increase when compared to the week prior. Ethanol stocks were at 22.47 mb decreased by 227,000 barrels this week. Monday's planting progress report for w/e 5/5/2019 revealed that planting pace is 13 percent behind a year ago and half of the 5 year average. Rains throughout the Midwest this week and lower than normal temperatures left many farmers content with leaving the bag unopened yet again this week. for a while yet. Not one single state was above the 5 year average on percent completed. Illinois is ready to make some noise whenever conditions get better as they are 56 percent behind the 5 year average. Flooding in the Missouri, Illionois and Mississippi River basins have left the St Louis harbor shut to traffic starting late last week, gnarling barge traffic to the North. Export sales for week ending May 2 totaled 11.3 million bushels of corn; 5.5 million bushels of soybeans and 3.3 million bushels of wheat. Wheat was 23 1/2 cents lower to 15 cents higher. Corn was 8 cents to 19 cents lower. Sorghum was 6 cents to 36 cents higher. Soybeans were 15 1/2 cents to 30 1/2 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 4 1/4 cents lower from 5.12 3/4-5.22 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 6 to 15 cents lower at 4.59 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 23 1/2 cents lower at 5.97 1/4 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 5 cents lower to 15 cents higher from 5.75-5.85 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 8 to 14 cents lower from 3.63 1/2- 3.74 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 17 1/4 cents lower from 3.43 1/4-3.62 1/4 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 16 to 19 cents lower from 3.48-3.51 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 17 1/4 cents lower from 3.50 1/4-3.51 1/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 14 1/4 to 16 3/4 cents lower from 3.36 1/4-3.46 1/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was not quoted. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was steady to 14 cents higher from 3.03-3.42 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not quoted. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not quoted. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 6 to 16 cents lower at 5.77 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 28 to 36 cents lower from 5.59-6.30 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 30 1/2 cents lower at 7.42 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 29 1/2 to 30 1/2 cents lower from 7.78 3/4-7.87 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 15 1/2 to 30 1/2 cents lower from 7.62 3/4-7.87 3/4 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent soybean meal, processor rail bid was 4.80 to 7.80 lower from 284.10-288.10 per bushel. Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 0.20 to 0.25 points lower from 26.03-26.23 per cwt.
