Montgomery County Livestock Auction   
Sheep and Goat Auction for 03/14/2019      

Receipts: 265        Last Month 320            Yr Ago: 505

   Thursday’s sheep and goat auction had a light to moderate offering of 
mostly lambs weighing 45-105 lbs.  Lambs and kid goats all traded steady 
to firm on comparable sales with last month.  There was a nice offering 
of replacement young replacement ewes with baby lambs.  Demand was 
moderate to good with supply light.  Supply was near 65 percent sheep and 
35 percent goats.  Montgomery County Livestock Auction holds the Sheep 
and Goat Auction the second Thursday of each month.  All prices per cwt 
unless noted otherwise.

SHEEP:  175 head (prices per hundred weight)

  Slaughter Lambs: Choice and Prime 1-2 45-52 lbs 255.00-275.00, 68-71 
lbs 226.00-232.00; 80-95 lbs 162.50-175.00; lot 104 lbs 160.00.  Good and 
Choice 1-2  45-52 lbs 232.50-250.00; few 105-110 lbs 135.00-150.00.      

  Slaughter Ewes:  Good 1-2 few 150-192 lbs  55.00-66.00, pkg 117 lbs 
75.00;  Utility 1-2  few 75-140 lbs 41.00-51.00..                 

  Replacement Ewes: Medium and Large 1-2 few young mostly yearling to 4 
yrs 100-150 lbs lbs w/baby lambs 180.00-222.50 per head; few yearling to 
4 yrs 125-190 lbs 78.00-86.00 cwt. 

  Feeder Lambs: Medium and Large 1-2  27-32 lbs  247.50-255.00.      

  Slaughter Bucks: few 85-130 lbs 90.00-122.50.      
  
  Replacement Bucks: couple 120-130 lbs 162.00-172.50 cwt.          
                        
GOATS: 90 head (prices per hundred weight)

  Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  43-47 lbs 290.0-297.50; pkg 60 lbs 320.00.  
selection 1-2  few 40-48 lbs 260.00-265.00.  Selection 2  45-50 lbs 
230.00-245.00; pkg 78 lbs 210.00.  

  Feeder Kids: scarce.
