AM_LS165 Amarillo, TX Fri Apr 3, 2020 USDA-TX-Dept of Ag Market News Texas Direct Feeder Cattle Report Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/03/2020 Receipts: 9,200 Last Week: 8,800 Year Ago: 44,500 Compared to last week: Current FOB steers were 6.00 to 12.00 lower on limited receipts; heifers were not well tested. CME live and feeder cattle futures lost its footing again by the end of the week, closing down the limit for several days. Most cattlemen are hanging on to their cattle with local pastures in good condition, hoping for brighter days ahead. Supply consisted of 79 percent steers and 21 percent heifers. Approximately 93 percent of the offerings weighed over 600 lbs. Prices based on net weights FOB after percent shrink or equivalent and 9- 15 cent slide on calves and 5-12 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other expenses. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.
