MD_DA136 Skim Milk Powder - South America Report 45 - Released on November 07, 2019 In the Southern Cone region, free on board export prices for skim milk powder (SMP) shifted higher, in line with upward SMP pricing movements in some offshore auctions and the bullish global trend of milk protein values. Due to the active production of WMP, drying schedules to make SMP are restricted in most balancing plants. As a result, SMP inventories are limited, while the market tone continues strengthening. Export trades to Brazil are light with values reflected on the top of the pricing range. Sales outside the Mercosur bloc are light to moderate, mirrored on the bottom of the pricing range.
