MD_DA136 Skim Milk Powder - South America Report 1 - Released on January 03, 2019 Free on board export prices for whole milk powder (WMP) adjusted slightly down across the Southern Cone region of the continent, in contrast with recent WMP upward pricing trends at the GDT. The bottom price of the range is reflecting active WMP export transactions outside the Mercosur bloc, particularly to Algeria and Russia. However, the top price of the range is mirroring sluggish trading activity within the Mercosur bloc, mainly from Argentina and Uruguay to Brazil. WMP production is ongoing in most balancing plants as manufacturing condensed milk volumes are readily available throughout the region. Consequently, WMP inventories are steady to slightly higher. Prices for: South America, All First Sales, Free on Board - Port, Conventional, and Edible Skim Milk Powder Price Range - 1.25% Butterfat; $/MT: 2,375 - 2,675 Information for the period December 24, 2018 - January 4, 2019, issued biweekly Secondary Sourced Information: At the GDT Event 227 on January 2, whole milk powder (WMP) prices across all contract periods averaged $2,705 per metric ton, up 1.2 percent from the last event.
