MD_DA902 Organic Dairy Fluid Overview Report 10 - Released on March 6, 2020 ORGANIC DAIRY FLUID OVERVIEW Retail Organic Milk Prices for selected U.S. Cities. The February 2020 in-store surveys of selected supermarkets in twenty-nine U.S. cities reveal that the price of organic whole milk, in half gallon containers, ranges from $3.03 in Atlanta, GA. to $5.84 in Pittsburgh, PA. The U.S. simple average price for January is $3.99. Below is a table displaying the February 2020 price per half gallon of organic whole milk, for each of the 29 cities surveyed. 1 As collected by Federal milk order market administrators, based on a survey conducted one day between the 1st and 10th of each month (excluding Fridays and weekends) in selected cities or metropolitan areas. One outlet of the largest and second largest food store chains and the largest convenience store chain are surveyed. The price represents the most common brand in nonreturnable containers. U.S. Organic Milk Pay Price. The December 2019 farm gate organic milk pay price of a national organic dairy cooperator is $32.42, with a twelve-month average price of $31.30, based on 12.9 percent total solids. The national average quality premium for the year was $1.80. The organic pay price is the amount accepted by organic dairy producers who contract with a large national organic cooperative, and based on the geographic area where the organic milk is produced and whether it is grass milk. Average Organic Milk Pay Prices in Europe. The December organic milk pay price in Europe adjusted higher in Germany, Bavaria and Austria, but declined in France. Trade activity is moderate on light demand for organic feed grade corn. Trades adjusted lower, 1.29, as some end user positions are full and not expecting to need grain until new crop. Trade activity is steady on moderate to good demand for organic feed grade soybeans. Sources note transactions are occurring 9 cents lower. Buying is active on moderated demand for organic feed grade soybean oil, with trades still ranging from .60 to .70 FOB the crusher. Few trades took place on food grade soybeans and wheat. Trades are inactive on all other organic grains.
