MD_DA350 Buttermilk - Eastern and Central U.S. Report 25 - Released on June 20, 2019 CENTRAL: The dry buttermilk price increased on the top of the range. Trading was slower, but dry products were generally slower this week. Again, there were a few more less-than-load (LTL) trades closer to and above $1.10, but truckloads did not meet that mark. Buttermilk powders remain tight. Last week, some end users reported more offers, but this week even offers were quieter. More milk is flowing into drying plants, but nonfat dry milk production remains the focus of most dryers. Dry buttermilk market tones are steady to bullish. EAST: Dry buttermilk prices are steady to higher. Production schedules are reduced with slow seasonal churning and active condensed buttermilk sales. Spot offerings for dry buttermilk are little to none in the region. Limited supplies trump price resistance, as buyers face challenges in finding dry buttermilk. Ingredient and baking channels show the best interest. The market undertone is firm.
