MD_DA106 Skim Milk Powder - Europe Report 41 - Released on October 10, 2019 Western European skim milk powder prices increased. Prices increased in each of the major producing countries: Germany, France, and Netherlands. Demand is quite good. Q4 2019 demand within Western Europe is stronger than manufacturers had anticipated. Production by some manufacturers has not increased much this year. Others are behind last year due to lower milk availability. Some buyers are still seeking SMP for delivery in the near term and through the rest of the year. Available supplies are low. Some current sales are from stocks, not current production. This contributes to upward price strength. Export interest is also very good. Current pricing generates good profits for manufacturers so if milk is available, manufacturers with drying capacity believe using it for SMP is a good option. Prices for: Europe, All First Sales, Free on Board - Port, Conventional, and Edible Skim Milk Powder Price Range - 1.25% Butterfat; $/MT: 2,475 - 2,650 Information for the period September 30 - October 11, 2019, issued biweekly Published by: Dairy Market News - Madison, WI Eric Graf, 608.422.8590 Email: Eric.Graf@usda.gov Additional Dairy Market News Information: Dairy Market News (DMN) by Phone: (608)422-8602 DMN Website: https://www.ams.usda.gov/market-news/dairy DMN MARS (My Market News): https://mymarketnews.ams.usda.gov
