     Oceania Dairy Market Overview

     AUSTRALIA:

     Milk production in Australia is near the seasonal peak. With the slow start to the season,
     once the imminent seasonal decline begins, it is considered quite unlikely for seasonal
     results to even match last season, much less increase. This has resulted in disappointing
     seasonal production so far, and exports of butter, cheddar, skim milk powder and whole milk
     powder.

     Northern Australia has limited hay availability. Dry conditions have affected new season
     hay. There are shipments of hay into the region from other regions. Many dairy producers are
     apprehensive that hay demand will exceed regionally produced supply. New season hay is
     beginning to reach market in Southern Australia. With very limited carryover stocks, that is
     welcome. In Western Australia, hay yields are disappointingly low and the crop is behind the
     expected schedule.

     NEW ZEALAND:

     Most pastures are in good condition in New Zealand. Warmer temperatures are encouraging
     forage growth. There are always concerns about potential dry weather later in the season,
     but that is not an active matter of concern right now. The seasonal milk production so far
     has helped keep dairy manufacturing plants busy. Most plant schedules are very full right
     now. Milk intakes are about as high as they will be. Many whole milk powder plants are near
     capacity.
