Contacts say they are seeing buyer interest from within Europe and from international markets. Production levels are not quite able to keep up with the prevailing demand, and sweet whey powder inventories are decreasing. Main destinations from January – August 2021, the quantity, and percent change from January-August 2020 are China, 180,983 MT, +6.58 percent; Indonesia, 61,405 MT, +33.51 percent; and Malaysia, 44,270 MT, +9.76 percent. January - August 2021 whey powder exports from Belarus, 96,000 MT, increased 6.3 percent from January - August 2020, according to CLAL data made available to USDA.
