MD_DA811 Cheese - Foreign Type Report 24 - Released on June 12, 2019 The German sliced cheese and semi-hard cheese markets are both balanced. However, stocks remain low. Milk supplies haven't improved in the past week, so cheese production can hardly be augmented. Cheese providers are satisfied with their current order status. Sales within Germany are good, but exports to Southern Europe have not reached the anticipated levels. However, market players expect a pick-up in demand soon. Sales of cheese to other parts of the world are unchanged. With the temperature warming up, mozzarella demand is on the rise. Prices for semi-hard cheese declined a bit, giving an extra boost to demand. Nonetheless, the June prices for sliced cheese have adjusted higher. Recent U.S. prices for wholesale blue, gorgonzola, parmesan Italy, and Romano increased $.0425, while Swiss cheese prices moved up $.1300. The prices for other varieties of cheese in the table below are steady.
