MD_DA811 Cheese - Foreign Type Report 45 - Released on November 06, 2019 In the European Union, the cheese market is balanced to tighter. Available stocks are barely enough to meet obligations. Generally, spot demands outpace inventories. As so, sellers are requesting higher prices that buyers are accepting without hesitation to safeguard coverages. Intakes of cheese within the European Union are at seasonal levels, but sales to other countries remain very strong. In Germany, the age structure of semi-hard cheese is the youngest possible, so it cannot be further reduced. As the autumn holidays come to an end, industry players expect cyclical cheese orders to remain high. Cheese production is mostly stable.
