Introduction: This bulletin presents final estimates, including revisions made by the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB), for the production years 2013 through 2017. Inventory, market hogs, breeding herd, and pig crops were published during calendar years 2013-2017 in periodic ASB reports. Data included in this publication provide a historic record and a benchmark for current estimates. Inventory values and value per head will be published in the Meat Animals, PDI - Final Estimates 2013-2017, Statistical Bulletin No. 1059. Procedures: Revisions were made after a thorough review of the original survey data and all additional data now available, including the 2017 Census of Agriculture. Other data series considered included slaughter data, shipment records, imports, and exports. Inventory levels, pig crops, and their relationship to slaughter were compared to historic totals. The 2013- 2017 estimates shown herein are considered final and will not be revised again. Revisions to United States estimates of December 1, 2013-2017 hogs and pigs inventories and 2013-2017 annual pig crops are included below. S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will release several products from the 2017 Census of Agriculture on April 21, 2019. The Census is the leading source of statistics about the Nation's agricultural production and the only source of consistent, comparable data at the county, state, and national levels. The Census includes all places from which $1,000 or more of agricultural products, including government payments, were produced and sold, or normally would have been sold, during the census year.
