        Mexico to TX. & NM. Weekly Feeder Cattle Import Summary

   Receipts EST: 14,000  Week ago Act: 13,862  Year ago Act: 11,944 

   Compared to last week, early sales of steer calves and yearlings
sold steady to 3.00 lower, with late sales 3.00-7.00 lower.  Cattle
under 500 lbs was very limited.  Heifers mostly steady.  Trade and
demand moderate.  The bulk of the supply consisted of steers and
spayed heifers weighing 300-700 lbs.

   Feeder steers:  Medium and large 1&2 300-400 lbs 153.00-170.00;
400-500 lbs 137.00-150.00; 500-600 lbs 120.00-140.00; 600-700 lbs
117.00-130.00.  Medium and large 2&3, 300-400 lbs 137.00-148.00;
400-500 lbs 122.00-132.00; 500-600 lbs 110.00-122.00.

   Feeder heifers: Medium and large 1&2, 300-400 lbs 130.00-145.00;
400-500 lbs 120.00-135.00; 500-600 lbs 110.00-125.00.       

 ****slide 10 cents on steers and heifers basis 300 lbs.****
