ML_LS750 Moses Lake, WA Fri May 17, 2019 USDA Market News Toppenish Livestock Auction, Toppenish, WA Thursday Feeder Cattle Weighted Average report for 5/16/2019 Receipts: 1330 Last Week: 1400 Year Ago: 1230 Compared to last Thursday at the same market, stocker and feeder steers firm in a light test. Not enough heifers this week for accurate market trends. CME contracts finished the day higher on all contracts except the current May which finished 1.70 lower. August through November finished 0.925 to 1.05 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls steady to firm. VA is for value added guaranteed grass fed cows. Trade active with good demand for all classes. Slaughter cows 79 percent, slaughter bulls 10 percent, and feeders 11 percent of the supply. The feeder supply included 29 percent steers and 71 percent heifers. Near 81 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
