Feeder steers under 500 lbs were 1.00 to 12.50 lower, while steers weighing between 500 to 550 lbs were 0.50 to 1.25 higher. Steers 550 lbs and above traded steady to 8.50 lower. Feeder heifers traded unevenly steady across all weight ranges, except for heifers weighing between 800 to 850 lbs, which traded 8.00 to 9.00 lower. Today’s offerings were calves and yearlings that were mostly all preconditioned with long weaning times. In feeder cattle, the run consisted of 56 percent steers, 44 percent heifers and less than 1 percent bulls. Approximately 60 percent of the run weighed over 600 pounds. The total run consisted of 100 percent feeder cattle. The next available report will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
