All contacts stated country trade was inactive. Almost all contacts are busy taking delivery on previous bought video and direct buys. Some wonder why, but majority of the summer grass is very short and dry with limited nutrition and has made it very hard for yearlings to put on the pounds in the late summer grazing. Nebraska feedlots slipped backwards for the second week in a row on cash sales. Live sales sold 1.00 to 2.00 lower at 101.00 and dressed sales sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower from 160.00 to 161.00. Direct prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent, with a 10-12 cent slide on calves and 6-8 cent slide on feeders from base weight.
