Another normally slow week of trade as most cattle are turned out to summer grass or come through an auction this time of year. Receipts should pick up later this summer when contracts for summer yearlings are made. Another week of wide price spreads for feedlot trade in Nebraska as live sales traded from 109.00-118.00 and dressed sales from 175.00-187.00. Actual slaughter weights ending 5/23: All live 1,370 lbs (-10); steer carcass 894 lbs (-7); Heifer carcass 826 lbs (-5). Direct prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent, with a 10-12 cent slide on calves and 6-8 cent slide on feeders from base weight. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other expenses. Offering included 100 percent steers and all over 600 lbs.
