Butter prices are lower on the CME Group currently. In the Northeast, there are more cream offers on the market at this time. Additionally, some butter churning schedules are keeping up with current cream supplies. However, there are a few operations at reduced churning schedules. Moreover, some operations are selling cream in lieu of churning. Market participants relay cream demand is somewhat in a lull. There are expectations interest will pick up once the baking season is near. Manufacturers' butter supplies are balanced to lower in the region. Bulk butter prices for domestic sales are reported 5-8 cents over the market of the CME Group, with various time frames and averages used.
