Spot cream availability increased, with some additional offers from suppliers. Market participants report cream markets have softened a bit. The demand for cream from Class II/cream-based specialty products has slowed down. In the East, butter inventories are stable. Some operations are building their inventories. On various market exchanges, butter spot loads are reaching around the $1.80s. Butter retail sales are slightly lower, while foodservice sales are reportedly improving. The bulk butter price for domestic sales, in the East, is reported 3 – 8 cents over the CME market, with various time frames and averages used. The butter market undertone is stable.
