MD_DA410 Butter - Eastern U.S. Report 33 - Released on August 14, 2019 During the middle of August, butter manufacturers are running at reduced churning schedules. Some operations are churning more than others. In the Northeast, milk is pulling harder to bottling plants as schools' pipelines are being filled. There is more cream available this week, as increased milk separation is taking place. Market participants are seeing cream spot loads trading around the 1.30s into the 1.40s currently. Private label butter orders are good. Additionally, some customers would like to increase their orders in 2020. Butter inventories are fairly balanced in the East. Spot prices are ranging around the low to mid 2.30s this week. Bulk butter prices for domestic sales are reported 5-8 cents over the market of the CME Group, with various time frames and averages used.
