March 1 Hop Stocks Inventory Down 3 Percent The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on March 1, 1997, totaled 79.0 million pounds, 3 percent below March 1, 1996 and 12 percent below two years ago. Stocks held by brewers, at 53.0 million pounds, fell 5 percent from last year and 9 percent below March 1, 1995. Stocks held by growers and dealers on March 1, 1997 rose 2 percent from the same period last year to 26.0 million pounds.
