March 1 Hop Stocks Up 24 Percent From Last Year The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on March 1, 2010, totaled a record high 102 million pounds, a 24 percent increase from the March 1, 2009 stocks. The previous record high for United States hop stocks was reported as of March 1, 1984, when holdings were 100 million pounds. Stocks held by brewers, at 47.0 million pounds, were up 18 percent from a year ago. Stocks held by dealers and growers on March 1, 2010 totaled 55.0 million pounds, 31 percent above March 1, 2009.
