March 1 Hop Stocks Inventory Down 1 Percent The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on March 1, 1999, totaled 75.0 million pounds, 1 percent below March 1, 1998 and 5 percent below two years ago. Stocks held by brewers, at 50.0 million pounds, fell 1 percent from last year and were 6 percent below March 1, 1997. Stocks held by growers and dealers on March 1, 1999, at 25.0 million pounds, was unchanged from a year ago but 4 percent less than March 1, 1997.
