TO_LS180 St Joseph, MO Fri Jan 24, 2020 USDA-MO Dept of Ag Market News Western Video Market - Final Report Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/23/2020 5,275 Total receipts 4,446 Feeder steers and heifers 768 Replacement cattle Demand and trade activity moderate to good. The cattle supply consisted of 84 percent feeder cattle with the balance being comprised of bred heifer, bred cows, heifer pairs and replacement open heifers. In the feeder supply 49 percent were steers and 51 percent were heifers. Of the feeder supply 63 percent weighed over 600 lbs. Feeder cattle receipts included 100 percent from Western states. Replacement cattle receipts included 95 percent from the Western states; 5 percent from North Central states. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2-3 percent pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 6-15 cent slide from base weight. Feeder cattle deliveries were current through March 2020. Replacement cattle deliveries were current through February 2020. Current deliveries are cattle that will deliver up to 14 days from the last sale day of the video.
