MD_DA210 Fluid Milk and Cream - Eastern U.S. Report 6 - Released on February 05, 2020 Milk is available in the Northeast region. Some balancing operations are running fairly smooth and are receiving stable milk volumes. Milk is more plentiful in other parts, and some plants are clearing heavier milk loads than anticipated. Class I sales are steady at this time. Mid-Atlantic milk output is level. Milk supplies are keeping manufacturers at capacity. Southeast milk production is mixed. Bottlers’ Class I sales are fairly consistent compared to last week. Some manufacturers are adding on a couple more milk loads. In general, plants’ milk supplies are steady. Milk output in Florida is picking up. Class I sales are unchanged. Cream market conditions are a little bit soft, however there are no extensive changes in supply or demand. Butter production is strong in some plants, and slower in a few operations. Multiples are ranging 1.06-1.18 this week. Condensed skim supplies are available in the region. Prices are steady currently. Manufacturers’ customers are receiving available loads through contract and spot load purchases. The DMN January 2020 average for Northeast Class II cream was $2.1614, compared to $2.3665 a month ago. The DMN January 2020 monthly average for Northeast Class II condensed skim was $0.8690, compared to $0.9571 a month ago.
