MD_DA210 Fluid Milk and Cream - Eastern U.S. Report 29 - Released on July 17, 2019 The summer heat is in effect around the Northeast. Milk production is seasonally lower, but in some parts, milk production is up this week. Class I sales are flat to lower. Additionally, some balancing plants are clearing lower milk volumes. A few market participants report spot milk is becoming a little difficult to find. In the Mid-Atlantic, milk production is flat. Balancing plants are receiving steady to lower milk volumes currently. Several handlers in the Southeast report milk loads off the farms are lower this week. Class I orders are level to lower. Manufacturers' Class II sales are mixed, but many operations are not at capacity. Florida milk production is down. Milk from other parts of the United States is making its way into the state for Class I and II orders. Although parts of the region are receiving additional milk loads, Class I sales are lower at this time of year. Market participants report cream loads are less available this week compared to last week. Many manufacturers and buyers are willing to purchase cream at higher prices. Multiples range 1.32-1.38. Condensed skim markets are steady currently. Manufacturers report supplies are readily available, yet there are little to no reports of discounts at this time.
