June. 3, 2019 USDA Market News Broiler/Fryer: Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance Whole broiler/fryer prices are steady at best for most sizes with heavier sizes noted as slightly more available. Offerings of all sizes are light to moderate entering the week. Retail and food service demand didn't meet expectations for those whom were expecting a first of the month pop. Floor stocks are generally in balance. Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts structure, dark meat is steady to firm and white meat items are steady at best. Supplies of dark meat cuts are light to moderate and clearing satisfactorily. Wings and tenders and breast cuts are mostly moderate. Market activity is slow to moderate. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mostly desirable weights. The National Composite Weighted Average for 5/31/19 is 99.52 compared to 100.95 a week earlier, and 120.18 a year ago.
