MD_DA901 Organic Dairy Retail Overview Report 10 - Released on March 6, 2020 ORGANIC DAIRY NATIONAL RETAIL OVERVIEW This week, total organic retail ads declined slightly, 5 percent, although organic butter in 16 ounce packaging ad numbers soared 1,405 percent. Total organic milk ads rose 48 percent, but organic cheese and yogurt ads declined 80 percent and 70 percent, respectively. The retail milk price spread between organic and conventional half gallon milk has an organic premium of $1.60, down $1.23 compared to the previous survey period. The average price for a specific organic commodity, inclusive of all packaging sizes reported in the survey, showed that organic cheese incurred a 30 percent drop in its average price, over the previous period, while the organic milk average price declined 10 percent, but organic yogurt's price increased 9 percent, compared to the previous week.
